Documentary Photography – capturing a Day in the Life of an Individual, Family, or Business.

The Details

How it works:

FOR AN INDIVIDUAL OR FAMILY:

You choose a day you want to have documented that represents your life at this point in time, a ‘typical day’ -  if there is such a thing.  Or you may decide you want an annual event, once-in-a-lifetime event, or trip/vacation documented. I’ll show up whenever you say, even if it’s when you wake up, and wind up the day as well whenever you say, even if it’s bedtime!

It doesn’t need to be a stand-out day with a lot of different locations and people involved, although that’s certainly one way to go.  In any case, including the mundane moments of your life, as well as the more interesting ones, provides a more realistic view of your life, as it really is. (We all have a little mundane in our lives, right?!  And thank goodness for that :-) )

YOU dictate how the day goes. And rest assured, we will work out the level of ‘intrusion’ that’s comfortable for you ahead of time, i.e I will NOT be following you to the bathroom or listening in on private conversations, etc.. –  I have a very healthy respect for boundaries!

**Tips:  One thing to consider in scheduling your day is the possibility of being in a situation (i.e. a business meeting) where others are involved  who may be uncomfortable with a photographer shooting ‘from the sidelines’. But you can relax in knowing that I go out of my way to stay in the background as much as reasonably possible, and there are ways to work around this issue that we can discuss if necessary.  If, however, you are completely uncomfortable with any part of your day being photographed for any reason, we can simply leave that part out and it’ll be ‘off the clock’, resuming whenever you say.  Or it could be split into two separate-day sessions of morning and afternoon. (*With no more than a two-day lapse of time in between).

FOR A BUSINESS -

For Small- to Large- Businesses:

“A Day in The Life” book is the perfect marketing tool for your business.  Have copies of the book to give prospective clients to get a look into the inner-workings of your business, the start-to-finish processes that take place, the employees relating to each other and/or interacting with existing clients.

Or simply have a copy for clients to thumb through as they wait for services, giving them a personal feel for who you are and what your business is all about.

For Publicly-held Corporations:

An ideal shareholder appreciation gift that allows investors to have a more personal connection to your company and provides a look at the day-to-day life behind the doors of the business they’ve put their faith (and money) in.
